How to add black into your home….

We all love a little drama .. so why don’t you inject a little into your home décor. How about a splash of a black tone, such as Off Black or Railings (which is a very dark blue black)

both Farrow & Ball. Black is a simple colour that never looks dated, whether you wear it or decorate your home in it- it will always be a classic.

The feature doesn’t always have to be in the wall, it can be the floor. Make a design feature out of your flooring with Karndean's Clifton design from their heritage collection. The black and white design, with the traditional star and square pattern adds an authentic and sophisticated style to your home.

Forget the misconception that black or very dark colours make things look closed in, actually dark

shades draw you into a space, it becomes intriguing. The key to using black in your home is to use the bold shade sparingly to ground your room and tie the scheme together. Painting doors, woodwork such as skirting

and door frames, or painting a feature wall in off black or add texture by painting a panelled wall. Keep all other walls neutral, in a fresh stone tone such as Egyptian Cotton or Elephants Breath, or keep it very simple and use a white with a tint of grey such as Elle Decoration -White feather
