GLASS SCREENS

Glass screens offer a seamless division between areas while maintaining an open feel, allowing natural light to flow through. Decorative screens add a touch of artistry and privacy.

In this open-plan setting, the dining room was originally part of a more extensive space, incorporating the kitchen and lounge areas. Our client's desire was to create a more intimate and semi-separate ambiance for the dining area without altering the open-plan design.

To fulfil this vision, we incorporated two elegant glass panel screens at the entrance. These screens artfully frame the entrance, imparting the illusion of entering a distinct room while maintaining an open feel.

The clever use of glass allows the seamless flow of natural light, preserving a sense of spaciousness throughout the entire area.

An excellent approach to zoning is applicable when dealing with a sizable, elongated room that struggles to function as a cohesive unit. Such a room might feel disjointed in terms of furniture placement and its overall utilization. In this scenario, a brilliant solution involves the installation of a 3-panel glass screen in lieu of a traditional wall.

To infuse warmth, texture, and a hint of privacy, a soft voile curtain has been delicately hung behind the glass screen.

This thoughtful segregation grants each space on either side a distinct identity while preserving functionality and ample space within the overall layout.

Employing transparent glass panels to provide a sense of definition on a larger scale proves to be an immensely effective method for zoning a space.

By opting for clear glass panels, the division becomes seamless and less imposing while retaining its remarkable effectiveness. The plain glass panel works harmoniously with the French doors beyond in our example below, as both styles complement each other cohesively, creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional combination.

DECORATIVE SCREENS

Implementing decorative screens rather than glass to create segregation within rooms is a great alternative to glass. This will provide a different layer & dimension to the space in a different way to glass, this is more outwardly decorative, so think about the material and the texture of the product you wish to use and ensure it is in keeping with the rest of the style of your home.

This is a great example of how to divide a room and is a stunning illustration of their effectiveness. It introduces an entirely new dimension to the space, elevating its design to a whole new level. The screen from Litfad, in particular, imparts an architectural theme, adding an elegant touch to this lounge area.

If you want to opt for something more natural, single wood batons in a uniform formation work really well with most modern contemporary homes, providing an element of privacy without closing off a space that would possibly have a solid wall segregating the rooms originally.

CONCLUSION

In summary, the possibilities and hidden potential you can achieve from zoning parts of your home can be really effective to optimise space & improve functionality, if done with consideration and practicality in mind, it especially works if you are space limited or have an area that feel overly big or is an awkward shape.
